It's finally happened, I'm writing a blog post! Just kidding, Tie Dye Diva is finally releasing the ladies' version of the New York Minute pattern. I think the most common question I heard when sharing her girls' version was "Is there a ladies' version?", and now I can say "YES there is!". I think my …

I'm so excited about this girls top! It's got that adorable and sweet vintage thing going on, and it's comfy like a t-shirt. It's Thread Faction's recently released #117 Bow Blouse, and it's just right up my alley! Oh how I wish this top was in my size... When I first saw it I immediately …
The Mandrake Dress
Sew Like My Mom is on a roll! Before she even released the Plum Dolman pattern she was drafting this girls' dress, and it's incredibly cute. The Mandrake Dress releases today, and it's fast and so perfect as a staple dress for my girls. This is another knit dress that is available in sizes 12 …
The Plum Dolman for Ladies
This is how it happens...Sew Like My Mom releases a pattern for kids, and all of the moms doing the sewing beg her to make one in ladies' sizes. She always obliges! The Plum Dolman is releasing today, and it's the ladies version of the Apricot Dolman. The Plum Dolman is available in a range …
A Well Fitting Dolman
I enjoy a good knit top for several reasons, but first and foremost they're just easy to take care of and comfortable. They're also usually the first things my girls go for in the morning when dressing themselves, or rather, I'm dressing them because they're total morning zombies. Sew Like My Mom released the Apricot …
5 Cozy Knits for Kids
Today I’m at Cali Fabrics (aka Fabric Outlet I’m always raving about in San Francisco) reviewing some fun knits! Take a look…
Hi all, it’s Gina here for Tie Dye Diva patterns. One of my favorite things about sewing with apparel fabric is the variety of knits available. It seems like every day (well not really, but you know what I mean!) there’s some type of knit fabric on the market I’ve never heard of and I need to touch them, pick them up, see how they drape, test their stretch, fall in love with them!

This first New York Minute dress features the hood, kangaroo pocket, and long sleeves options…

Love a Simple Pattern Mash-Up
Today I'm over at Tie Dye Diva with a super easy pattern mash-up tutorial! What's even better is the patterns that I'm using are both on sale* until March 3rd, so if you've been on the fence about these, now's the time (I'm a total enabler!). The Opal Knit Flutter Tunic and Dress* had been …
Ficus Cardigan – A Ladies Peplum Cardigan
Almost immediately after Sew Like My Mom released her Fern Cardigan, there was demand for a ladies version. It really is such a lovely cardigan (and I do so love cardigans!), so I was excited to test the Ficus Cardigan. The Ficus Cardigan is available in XXS through 3XL and is intended for knit fabric. …

Fern – A girls peplum cardigan
I absolutely love the classic look of a circle skirt peplum. It provides just enough sophistication to make any outfit appear more than just thrown together, even for a little one, but realistically, they're one of the easiest things to sew. The new Fern Cardigan by Sew Like My Mom features a perfect little peplum …
Thread Faction #112
I only recently discovered Thread Faction's grow-with-me pattern line, which Liz of Thread Faction is expanding. What a really fun idea since babies and kids grow so quickly! Let me just start by saying these patterns are seriously the perfect gift to make young children. You don't even have to worry too much about their …
