My daughter picked out this double knit fabric at Joann’s over the holidays. She said she wanted me to make her a long sleeve dress with it. She is in desperate need of long sleeve tops, so I was so happy when this pattern turned out to fit her perfectly! She just loves it and thinks it’s soooo comfy and soft (aka she’s actually going to wear it).
The length of the sleeves are just right as is, and I didn’t adjust the dress length at all.
Since I had plenty of the 1 yard I had purchased left, I made a smaller version too! Ack! I can’t believe I made them the same exact dress!!!This one is sized 18 months, and it fits my 15 month old well. I used the 12 month length since she’s on the shorter side. I love the neckline which is fully faced and so simple to sew up quickly. It has a slight boatneck look which I really like.I used my serger for all of the seams. I turned up the sleeve hems 1/2″ on both dresses and finished using a double ballpoint needle on my sewing machine and a slightly longer stitch. For the bottom hem I turned it up 1″ (you can kind of see it on the bottom in the above pic). It turned out very well. I’m pleased! She also loves this dress, although it was a little snug getting it over her big baby head!
I am definitely making more with this dress pattern, as well as hacking off the skirt and making tops too. It just fit my girls perfectly!
